The speaker will share how the school has been handling cases of SEN students (ASD and ADHD) with high functioning IQ. SEN students are troublemakers in both the eyes of teachers and peers. Their parents feel frustrated all through the year when meeting with teachers. With our strenuous efforts, the school has figured out a new mode of study path for the SEN students, letting them take S1 and S2 classes at the same time as he is talented in Math and Science subjects. In retrospect, the students can successfully pass through their 'tough' year with the help of all teachers involved and the collaboration of parents.
We do hope such sharing can inspire on how we can ‘Think out of the Box’ to help our SEN students, not only to engage him to learn, but also to maximize his potential.

本節將分享如何協助及支援有特殊學習需要的資優生。
近年,學校多收了SEN的資優生,他們在個人性格及學習模式與一般學生不一樣。一方面,他們智商較高,學習及記憶力強,他們未能滿足於一般課堂教學; 另一方面,由於他們是SEN學生,不能與同伴和諧共處,在課堂內外都對老師及同學會造成困擾。
經過一年的探索與調適,各同工的努力,及家長的配合,學生得以愉快學習及成長。今希望藉此與教育界同工分享點滴,盼能拋磚引玉。
